Grapes grown in Utovlje near Sežana and those ripened under the sun of Tomaj, in the land of Karst Teran, were lovingly harvested by us—the proud heirs of the Cesar family—traditionally pressed, and patiently refined with knowledge, care, and respect for tradition.

Cesar Family Winery is located in Utovlje near Sežana, directly on the border with Italy. Our family winery welcomes visitors who wish to taste our premium wines and learn more about the winemaking process. Guests can also stay overnight in our comfortable rooms or take part in a guided wine tasting experience.

Teran Sparkling Wine
The latest addition to the Cesar Winery is a Teran sparkling wine, produced using the Charmat method. Made from an older vintage, it nevertheless retains a fresh and lively character, as both the production and maturation processes were carefully supervised from start to finish.
Teran Prestige Barrique
Teran Prestige Barrique from the Cesar Winery displays an opaque ruby-red colour. On the nose and palate, it reveals notes of oak from ageing in oak barrels, complemented by ripe red fruit aromas. The wine is dry, full-bodied, and well-structured, with a firm yet refined tannic grip.
Teran Premium
Teran Premium from the Cesar Winery offers a pleasant interplay of aromas. On the palate, the wine clearly expresses its character, with lively acidity and a medium-bodied structure combined with full flavour intensity. The tannins are elegant, leading to a medium to long finish.
Teran
The wine displays an intense red colour with violet hues. The bouquet is marked by fruity aromas of raspberries, blackberries, and other forest fruits. Medium-bodied and fruit-driven in character, the wine feels fresh on the palate and finishes with a pleasant expression of ripe fruit.
Teran Liqueur
At the Cesar Winery, special delicacies have always been part of our tradition, among them a liqueur made from carefully tended Teran grapes. Prepared in small batches according to a long-standing family recipe, this distinctive liqueur continues to be crafted with the same care today.
